I am senior citizen and a three time cancer survivor. I was diagnosed in 2003 with Colon Cancer. In 2011, I was diagnosed with a Carcinoid Cancer of the stomach and Renal Cell Cancer of the left kidney. I had surgery to remove the cancers, and I am now in remission.\u00a0 The most important thing that a patient should do is to keep all of their appointments, eat healthy, and if possible, exercise. Also, try to alleviate as much stress as possible. I figured out what I can\u2019t control, I don\u2019t worry about. I visualize a positive attitude towards being healthy.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-3393 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cancerhopenetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/sandra-mosley.jpg?resize=259%2C126&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Sandra Mosley.jpg\" width=\"259\" height=\"126\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/>I want people to know there is hope after diagnosis. When I first was diagnosed, I wasn\u2019t fearful. I followed all of the doctor\u2019s instructions, and took all the necessary test, such as cat scans, blood work, and any lab work that was needed.\u00a0 I had a great support team, and that is very important to have. If you don\u2019t have friends and family that can support you, the Cancer Hope Network can offer one-to-one support, as well as support for your family. When you talk with someone that has been there and survived cancer, it can be encouraging.<\/p>\n<p>I am a volunteer for Cancer Hope Network. I am also a writer, and a published author, in the process of completing my second book.<br \/>\nMy first book, title \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Birth-Seed-Sandra-Mosley\/dp\/1642583189\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1544043474&amp;sr=8-1&amp;keywords=the+birth+of+a+seed\">The Birth of a Seed<\/a>\u201d, is a story of my life and how I overcame many obstacles \u2013 cancer, being an unwed teen mother, the sudden death of my husband, and many other challenges along the way. The book discusses the struggles, fears, and heartbreak that I have experiences that I have gone through and I how I overcame them. I was inspired to write my story by my friend, Mr. Brooks. He told me one day, \u201cYou should write your story!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At first I had no idea what to write, but once I started writing, the words began to flow and became more and more comfortable expressing my story\u2026 my truth. After I wrote my story, I sent the manuscript to the publisher, with my fingers crossed, and they accepted my book the first time!
