It\u2019s not hype: Cancer Hope Network\u2019s nearly 500 amazing Support Volunteers are incredible people with incredible stories. Last week, we trained an exceptional group of new volunteers \u2013 including some with rare diagnoses as well as with one-in-a-million cancer discovery stories.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of our new mentors was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, so uncommon that the hospital most expert in her diagnosis was several states away. She enrolled in a clinical trial that saved her life. Another new volunteer suffers from osteoporosis which, in a twist of fate, led to the discovery of her cancer while preparing for a regularly scheduled infusion. We also have a Support Volunteer whose diagnosis came as a shock because there were no symptoms leading up to the discovery. Close to our hearts, we had the honor of accepting a new mentor who came to us after the passing of a loved one \u2013 longtime CHN Support Volunteer Bill W.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
